Night approaches beyond the hills
Inside these walls filled with chills
Cold wisps of air travel around
Outside darkness creeps without a sound
Longing gasps of breath all held in
Entwined behind a unknown sin
Leaves dance along with the wind
Yonder by the trees, terrified within
No peace will be granted nor a grin
Vivid creatures lurk in twilight
Evening is a monsters highlight
Nocturnal eyes witness fear
Not knowing that the end is near
Alas, a light peeks beyond the hills
Requests of warmth banish the chills
Daring the sun to rise once more.
