I dreamed of owning my very own website for as long as I can remember. I always envied those who had a little piece of themselves floating out on the web to share with the world, hoping the day would come that I, myself, would have control of my own slice of the WWW
(world wide web!). Finally, the time has come! Thanks to my father, who cosigned my first credit card allowing me to purchase items online, I was able to buy a domain.
With this 'credit card power', I quickly googled for cheap domains. Of course, my idea of cheap and the rest of the webs idea of cheap were two different things. Overpriced items frequently popped up in this search, but then I hit the jackpot. I had found a website I could trust to sell me such a product. Google! YEA! A person such as I, with my beloved email address ending with @gmail.com, knew right away google would satisfy my domain purchasing needs.
Unfortunately, finding a reasonable price isn't always the problem. My real problems came when I realized, after all that time craving a website, I hadn't even thought of what I would name it when I obtained one! So, what am I to do without a suitable name for my domain? I had read tips, stating: "Choose the name wisely...Don't make it too long or hard to understand...Don't use many symbols or numbers...Keep it clean...and Stick with what your site is about". This brought up another problem.
What was I going to put on my website? I had no talents, no special skills to show on a website. Sure, I have a beautiful voice and I say comical things ... but those aren't the types of things you can just post on a webpage. It took some time, but I figured out my special skill. Writing, creative writing, poetry to be exact. Now, all I needed was a name!
Back at the drawing board, I listed several clever names that would allow people to understand this was indeed the home of marvelous poetry. Every time I entered a name in I would be rejected, with the words "domain name taken, please try another or use one of our suggestions: 'losercrap.com', 'whatyoudontwanttoread.org', 'wowthissucks.net', and even 'i-cant-believe-some-retard-made-this-site.com'". With some quick thinking, I knew exactly what name would be perfect for me, and not already be owned. Miss Nicole Lyn [.com]
:)
This name shows exactly who I am, and with some knowledge you already know my skill .. poetry! So, there is no surprise to what you'll find on my website. Enjoy!
